Clones credit union, Co. Monaghan are moving to low carbon and low energy operations, and decided to increase their energy efficiency by installing solar panels to their property. 

Reducing their reliance on finite fossil fuels means lowering their carbon emissions, and carbon footprint, as well as reducing their energy bills, and demonstrating the benefits of renewable energy to their clients.

Clones credit union wanted to lead the way as a prominent, local financial institution, and do their part for the community and environment by installing renewable energy technologies. They wanted to showcase how this technology can lower energy bills and demonstrate directly how renewable energy can create a sustainable future for buildings in Ireland.

Hybrid Energy Group installed the following: 

  • 34 panel Solar PV System- 14.96kW Trina Solar System, 10kW Huaweii Inverter and 10kW Battery Module

 

This business now generates its own electricity via the 14.96kW solar PV system. 

  • 14.96W Solar PV System will generate approximately 13,180kWh of energy per annum. 
  • The energy generated via the solar panels will be used to power lighting and electronic equipment primarily.
  • Approximately €2,814 annual energy savings
  • Approximately 6,220 kg of carbon saved annually
  • Reduced Carbon Footprint with this sustainable carbon-free energy solution

Clones credit union are spearheading the movement to renewable energy, showcasing to their customers and community how they can save big generating their own solar energy. Their next step will be looking at heat pumps and additional solar panels if necessary.
