Hybrid Energy Group 2024 Review

As we come to the close of 2024, we’d like to take a moment to express our sincere gratitude to all of our staff, customers, partners, and the communities we serve. Your support and collaboration have made this year a truly remarkable one for us, and we couldn’t have achieved so much without each and every one of you.

Looking back, we are incredibly proud of the milestones we’ve reached and the impact we’ve had in the energy sector. Here are just a few of the key highlights from 2024:

2024 by the Numbers: A Year of Growth

• 72 New Build Projects: We continued to push the boundaries of innovation and sustainability, delivering smart renewable technologies to 72 new build projects that set new standards for energy-efficient construction.

• 64 Retrofit Projects: Retrofit remains a cornerstone of our work, and we’re proud to have completed 64 projects aimed at upgrading and improving existing buildings for energy efficiency and comfort.

• 112 Social Housing Homes: We’ve made significant strides in assisting the councils housing needs, delivering smart solutions to 112 social housing homes to ensure more people have access to safe, affordable, and sustainable living spaces.

• 204 Solar PV Systems: Solar energy has been a major focus this year, with 204 solar photovoltaic (PV) systems installed to reduce carbon footprints and provide clean energy to homes and businesses across the region. We are very proud to increase our Solar PV installations year on year. 

• 171 Heat Pumps: Our commitment to renewable heating solutions was reflected in the installation of 171 heat pumps, helping homes and businesses enjoy energy-efficient and eco-friendly heating with Mitsubishi Electric Ecodan heat pumps.

• 78 Mechanical Ventilation Systems: Air quality is more important than ever, and we’re proud to have installed 78 Vent Axia mechanical ventilation systems that ensure healthier, more comfortable indoor environments.

• 6 New Staff Members: Growth isn’t just about projects; it’s also about people. We were excited to welcome 6 new members to the Hybrid Energy Group team, each bringing valuable skills and fresh perspectives.

• 16 National and Local Events: Whether it was through industry conferences, local networking events, or community initiatives, we actively participated in 16 events throughout the year to continue learning, sharing, and driving positive change in the energy sector. We would like to thank Retrofit Ready Cavan/Monaghan, and our local credit unions also. 

Solar for Schools 

At Hybrid Energy Group, we’re always excited to find new ways to make a positive impact, particularly when it comes to supporting future generations and fostering sustainable practices. That’s why we are thrilled to announce the continuation of our Solar for Schools Programme in 2024, offering eligible schools the opportunity to avail of full funding for up to 6 kWp of roof-mounted solar PV systems.

This is an incredible opportunity for schools to reduce their carbon footprint, lower energy costs, and engage students in the importance of renewable energy. The programme covers everything from the installation of the solar panels to the connection to the grid and the provision of a comprehensive monitoring system and display screen. This system will allow schools to track their energy generation in real-time, making it an educational tool as well as a green energy solution.

Here’s what is included in the Solar for Schools Programme:

• Up to 6 kWp of roof-mounted solar PV: This will provide schools with a renewable source of energy, helping to meet their energy demands sustainably.

• Grid connection: We ensure that the solar system is properly connected to the grid, allowing schools to take full advantage of any surplus energy they generate.

• Monitoring system and display screen: This feature allows students, staff, and visitors to monitor the school’s energy production, promoting a deeper understanding of renewable energy and sustainability.

The best part? Full funding is available for all eligible schools, meaning there are no upfront costs for the installation of the solar PV system. Schools can benefit from long-term savings on their energy bills, all while contributing to a cleaner, greener future.

By participating in this programme, schools not only save money but also play an important role in educating the next generation on the importance of sustainability. We believe that every school should have access to renewable energy, and we’re proud to be part of this transformative initiative.

Giving Back: Charity Work and Community Support

This year, we were especially proud to have made a meaningful impact beyond our core business through charitable efforts. One of the highlights of 2024 was our partnership with the Julian Benson Cystic Fibrosis (CF) Foundation and our donation of solar PV panels to Tranquility House in Rathmines, Dublin.

Tranquility House is a special place that provides much-needed respite and support for families living with Cystic Fibrosis. With our donation, we were able to help reduce the energy costs for the facility, enabling them to redirect funds to more crucial areas, such as enhancing patient care and support services. This was a project that aligned perfectly with our mission to promote sustainable energy solutions while giving back to the community. It was incredibly rewarding to know that our work not only helped create a greener future but also made a direct impact on the lives of those who need it most.

We look forward to continuing our charity work in the future, collaborating with organisations that are making a real difference in people’s lives.

We successfully gained ISO 9001 (Quality Management) certification for another year, and strive towards more in 2024.
