Micheal Smith of Hybrid Energy Group surveyed the energy usage of the school during term time, and offered the school an opportunity to switch to solar energy as a renewable energy source that would:
- Provide low energy bills
- Provide low running costs
- Future proof the needs of the buildings for decades to come
- Reduce carbon emissions and carbon footprint
- Help the school play their role in fighting climate change
- Create awareness and education for the students on solar energy and carbon emissions
Micheal decided the best solution for the school was to install a 1.46kw of Mono PV Array roof-mounted system on the south-facing roof of one of the buildings, using the Van der Valk Valkbox Flatroof Kit along with a Goodwe Inverter.
This Solar PV system with an inverter will offset approximately 1,600 kWh’s per year, reducing the energy bills of the school, as well as reducing their impact on the environment.
This job was completed in just three days and is working effectively for when school begins again in September.
Hybrid Energy Group were delighted to work with Lough Shore Plumbing & Electrical Ltd, on behalf of Bailieborough Community School, and introduce the first of many installations of renewable energy solutions that will future-proof the school for many generations to come.
It is with great pride we work with schools and education boards that put great efforts in making the change to energy-efficient renewable energy solutions, while supporting Ireland on reaching our climate action goals.
This innovation is showing our younger generation how important it is to protect the environment we live in, and to look after the planet we have.
We look forward to working with them on further projects down the line.
