Farm, Solar PV Installation, Co. Meath

This dairy farm in Meath wanted to upgrade their energy efficiency by switching to renewable energy solutions. Using the power of the sun to generate electricity to help power the farm, reduce energy bills and reduce impact on the environment.

Reducing their reliance on finite fossil fuels means lowering their carbon emissions, and carbon footprint, as well as reducing their energy bills, and teaching their young students about climate change and playing their role.

This farm chose to install solar PV panels to reduce their reliance on the grid, lower energy bills and start the process of becoming more sustainable.

Some of their goals included:

  • Reduce energy bills
  • Reduce reliance on the grid
  • Reduce use of fossil fuels
  • Capacity to generate own energy
  • Reduce carbon footprint

Hybrid Energy Group installed the following:

  • 20 panel Solar PV system- 8.0kW Trina Solar with a 6kW Huawei inverter

This dairy farm now generates its own electricity via the 8.0kW solar PV system. and 6.0kW inverter

  • 8.0kW Solar PV System will generate approximately 5,600kWh of energy per annum.
  • The energy generated via the solar panels will be used to power lighting and electronic equipment primarily, while the inverter will be used to heat hot water.
  • Electricity bills will reduce dramatically
  • Elimination of some fossil fuels usage
  • Huge reduction in carbon emissions
  • Reduced Carbon Footprint with this sustainable carbon-free energy solution

This is the second complete farming Solar PV project of 2023.

Farm owner describes the installation:

It was a short process from enquiry to completion, and we couldn’t be happier with the installation and service overall. We started generating our own electricity immediately, and we look forward to reaping the rewards for the foreseeable.
