Why do I need to service my Heat Pump annually

There are In line magnetic filters and strainers that need to be checked and cleaned regularly. If they are not checked and cleaned annually this could cause damage to the heat exchanger, reducing the efficiency of the technology, and the amount of heat generated for your home or business. 

The external unit needs to be cleaned down and kept clear of any objects that decrease the air flow which can have an impact on the efficiency of the heat pump. Plants, pots, grass  and shrubbery for example must be at least 18inches from the unit.

Heat Pump maintenance & service will consist of

  1. Inspect ducts, filters, blower, and indoor coil for dirt and other obstructions
  2. Recheck settings on controller
  3. Glycol levels checked
  4. Check system pressure and verify adequate airflow
  5. Bleed out rads or underfloor for accumulated air
  6. Lubricate motors, and inspect belts for tightness and wear
  7. Inspect electric terminals, and, if necessary, clean and tighten connections
  8. Verify correct thermostat operations
  9. Recommission the system to work like new
