The dairy farm manager contacted Hybrid Energy Group to conduct an energy audit, to identify what measures could be upgraded and what grants were available. As a Targeted Agricultural Modernisation Scheme (TAMS) registered installer, we knew the farm could avail of a 40% grant on Solar PV, reducing its energy bills and installing a more efficient renewable energy solution. Micheal completed an energy assessment of the site taking into account the following:
- Reduce energy load
- Reduce carbon footprint
- Substantial financial saving
Hybrid Energy Group Ltd installed a Trina Solar 6.5kw Solar PV System with battery storage.
- Reduce reliance on the grid
- Reduce energy consumption
- Generate electricity for farm production
- 25-year manufacturers warranty
- Very low maintenance
- Additional panels can be installed in the future
This system will offset approximately between 6,000 – 9,000 kWh per year as the battery storage can be charged on night rating electricity on the lower tariff and used during the working day.
It was important for the dairy farm to set a high standard as an energy-efficient farm and look towards future savings and reducing carbon footprint.
