2022 review

Hybrid Energy Group 2022 Review

2022 was one of the most successful years for Hybrid Energy Group, and one where we saw huge interest in renewable energy technologies, and a proud year to be named renewable energy company of the year with the Business All-Stars.

We had so many highlights and accomplishments as a company, and we wanted to share them with you.

New Year, New Name

We started the year with a rebrand, with a new name that encompasses the company growth, and the future plans we have. Hybrid Energy Group replaced M&C Hybrid Energy and with this a new website, new product offerings on our online shop, and a renewed dedication to bring renewable energy to every community. You can visit our new website and learn more about us here.

Huge growth in projects across Ireland

This year saw us work on 240 residential, commercial and community sites in total, including 20 new builds, 40 retrofits and 180 social housing units. These projects varied in technologies and installations, including solar PV projects, underfloor heating and plumbing services, heat pump installation, mechanical ventilation installation, and more.

Renewable Energy Solutions increased by 22%

We completed 62 solar PV system installations, and 76 heat pump installations this year, as well as 21 mechanical ventilation systems. These technologies will drastically reduce the energy usage in homes and businesses, and reduce their energy bills. As well as the much needed reduction in soaring energy bills, these smart technologies reduce carbon emissions emitted into the atmosphere, and reduce our human impact on the environment, a huge win for us and the planet.

Hybrid Energy Group held and attended many local and national events

We held our own renewable energy information day in Cavan town this summer, and was delighted to meet so many people interested in becoming greener in their homes. Carmel, our Director and Co-Founder, presented at the Cavan Women’s Business Club event in June, and we also exhibited at the 79th Virginia Show, where we had a great day discussing renewable energy with everyone, including Minister for Rural and Community Development Heather Humphreys. We took part in many online events, including Construction Industry Federation (CIF) safety week, and the World Green Building Week, both in October.

As a Guaranteed Irish member, we had the opportunity to participate in the annual construction forum in September, where members discussed construction development in Ireland with sustainability at the heart of the sector.

We up-skilled at the Irish Solar Energy association event in October, as well as speaking about all things renewable energy at Colm Markey MEP’s retrofit event in November.

Awards & Accreditations

We had the great honour of winning the renewable energy company of the year award for 2022 at the all star business awards in Dublin. Micheal (MD) won the leadership in energy award in 2020, and we were thrilled to win this national accolade for our customers, our team and the environment.

We were also shortlisted for the innovation award at the 2022 Cavan Business and Tourism Awards.

We gained ISO 9001 (Quality Management) certification, an international standard based on customer focus, management, improvements and processes. This year we also introduced a new CRM (customer relationship management) system, so we could improve communication and services for our customers.

New Staff and Partnerships

We welcomed five new staff members to our team this year. Including Rachel, our office administrator, Dan, our renewable sales technician, and Christopher, Harris and Jason, our plumbing apprentices. Most recently we welcomed Alfie to the team, he is just three months old, but is already eager to learn the ropes!

We continued our partnerships with many local companies including Lowry Construction, Crosserlough Construction, Craft Studio Architects, WGG Architects and Michael Fitzpatrick Architects and. We have worked closely with the Sustainable Energy Authority of Ireland (SEAI) on various commercial and residential grant schemes, as well as farming grants and grants for community buildings such as schools and community centres. We also created a new partnership with Credit Union Plus, where our customers can avail of affordable loans for their energy upgrade.

Case Studies and Testimonials

We are always grateful to have such enthusiastic and climate aware customers, and this year was no exception. We worked on a variety of projects for commercial, community, public sector and residential properties, including farms, schools, offices, and homes of all sizes.

One standout case study of ours is a residential customer who installed a heat pump, solar panels and an electric vehicle charger for their two cars, and with these technologies, this homeowner is 85% self-sufficient and pays just €1.80 per day for their home’s energy.

You can view this case study and all our others over on our website.

From our extensive work this year, we were privileged to receive numerous words of recommendations from our customers. You can find these over on our social media pages, just search Hybrid Energy Group.

As we mentioned before, 2022 has been a fantastic year for the company, and since our establishment in 2009, we have worked on over 8,500 homes and businesses, saving 3.4GW of energy, and 1.4 million tonnes of carbon.  We have huge goals for the company for the future, and how we can bring sustainability to every home and business in our community and beyond, and our mission is to reduce energy usage, introduce renewable energy as the primary energy supplier, and help save this planet for our kids and yours.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank all our team, customers, partners and our local community for their support in 2022. Wishing you all a very merry Christmas and a happy and peaceful new year.
